In this track, as we did in Mariana Trench, we have two voices, one is in an anxious and regretful state, feeling as if they can't get things right and full of self-doubt. The other is there for them, listening and then trying to raise their spirits in the chorus'. It's a song that's bound to raise your mood and offers a real message of hope lasting throughout the darkest times. The underlying theme of the whole album is friendship, supporting each other throughout these times.
lyrics
It happened again, fallen a little behind
We’d not got far when it sank
So done missing out by I guess some hook or line
Now wondering yet again what’s the reason?
Like, what have I done now?
Did I come on too strong?
And what have I done now?
Did I miss it all along?
Thinking way back to when
She would always hold my hand
To keep her getting down with her night demons
On my arm, she would depend
Just as far as the party’s end
See, I never was the man for every season.
Oh, what have I done now?
Did you come on too strong?
And what have I done now?
Did I get it all wrong?
But won’t you let it be?
Don’t sit around, thinking they'll complete ya
Paradigms shift and soon they’ll react, man
You’ll see
So I’m trying again, but it’s always on my mind
The fear of missing out is taking over
Looking around, why can’t I figure it out?
Can you ever just be sure of the path you’re walking?
Cos what did I do now?
She just was not the one
And what’ll I do now?
The best is yet to come!
And won’t you let it be?
You don’t need no one else – get on your feet/up, yeah?
The stars all shift and
Fall into place, man
You’ll see
So let go. Don’t play it cool
Just be warm as you are
Stand up tall, your heart upon your arm
Don’t shy away man, let her see all of your scars
And won’t you let it be?
You are enough, her rock to stand on
To stop her drifting
You’ll be her everything, man
You'll see
